If you have never read the wonderful story of 'The Little Prince', I suggest you hunt the book down and spend the hour reading its enchanting tale. It is a fantastical and magical story of a little prince who has landed on Earth from another small planet. There the little prince meets the story's narrator, an aviator who has crash landed in the Sahara desert. The little prince then shares his innocent wisdom of love, loneliness and life.
The Little Prince is considered to be one of the greatest literature of all time and you'll understand why it has garnered that title after you've read it. Its simple yet poignant tale teaches us to appreciate the simple things in life and how as we grow older, we lose the imagination we once possessed when we kids.
The story is a personal favourite of mine as you can see by my review.. hehe! I also regard the author, Antoine de Saint Exupéry to be a legendary writer and poet. Some of his best quotes include:
You do not inherit the earth from your ancestors: you borrow it from your children.
-- On n'hérite pas de la terre de ses ancètres, on l'emprunte à ses enfants. --
It would seem that perfection is attained not when no more can be added, but when no more can be removed.
-- Il semble que la perfection soit atteinte non quand il n'y a plus rien à ajouter, mais quand il n'y a plus rien à retrancher. --
ps. Antoine de Saint Exupéry is French, so his works were originally published in French and then translated into English and many other languages worldwide.
